New Haddonfield Office! We have moved down the street!

Just a quick update everyone, we have a new Haddonfield office! We have moved away from the Training Room of Haddonfield and while this was not an easy decision, the time had come to move to a bigger facility.  We are now located at:

807 North Haddon Avenue Suite 210 Haddonfield, NJ 08033 – more commonly known as the South Jersey Radiology Building of Haddonfield / Westmont!

This move was only about four blocks down on the opposite side of the street.  The new facility has more parking spaces available and we are located on the second floor, no worries, we have an elevator as well! With the addition of our newest doctor, Dr. Trisha Sileo, we have added hours at our Mount Laurel and Haddonfield offices!

Adrenaline Run Post Race Party Recovery Room – Haddonfield Adrenaline 5k

The Haddonfield Adrenaline 5k almost  always signals that we are at least getting somewhat close to spring in South Jersey.Just like last year we had the honor of setting up in the basement of the Haddonfield Running Co after the Haddonfield Adrenaline Run 5k. Per the norm we had the Physical Therapy team from The Training Room of Cherry Hill and The Training Room of Haddonfield along with us and they even brought there newest form of therapy, a cold laser. Runners, runner injuries, runner issues, and triathletes make up a very big part of our patient population and while some doctors offices don’t enjoy runners, we look forward to the challenge of getting someone feeling better with a goal in mind like a big race or a triathlon.

You can see the from the photos that follow that we had a full docket of our runners, friends and family looking forward to some Active Release Therapy after the race.

Questions about the big race?

The 13th Annual Haddonfield Adrenaline 5K Run will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018.  The 5k starts at 9am in front of Haddonfield High School and is followed by a kids 1/4 mile and 100 meter races on the Haddonfield High School track. The 5K race is USATF certified, and serves as the MidAtlantic 5K Championship. This event is sponsored by the RunningCo. of Haddonfield. Kick off the 2018 running season with an adrenaline pumping race!

This race sells out year in and year out! If you want to joint us next year to get your adrenaline pumping for the spring running season, be ready to sign up in late winter!

Haddon Heights FireCracker 5k – Fourth of July Race – Haddon Heights, NJ

Need a great little 5k to get your blood pumping the morning of the Fourth of July, look no further than the Haddon Heights FireCracker 5k.  This race has been going on for several years now and is always a local favorite with our patients and friends who like to run.  This race is a very big draw due to it’s proximity with Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, and Haddon Township, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can!  Online registration closes on SUNDAY JULY 2ND!

Race Day entry fee: $25.

Flat, fast & mostly shaded – point to point. Ends at Hoff’s Park, which is also the parade finish. Course roads are police controlled.

Exercise and Chiropractic Therapy go hand in hand!

Continuing on from some earlier blog posts about the spine needing some form of moderate movement to stay healthy, a recent article went live on which talked in depth to the importance of exercise when coupled with chiropractic treatments.  Here at the office it is very common for us to prescribe you corrective exercises, for you to do on your own, once your dysfunctional areas are addressed and corrected to at least some degree using Active Release Technique and Joint Manipulation.

According to the Scientific Commission of the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters:

  • Strong evidence supports exercise as being at least as effective as other non-surgical treatments for chronic low back pain
  • Moderate evidence supports use of graded-activity exercise program in occupational settings for sub-acute lower back pain
  • Some evidence shows that exercises are no more effective than other nonsurgical treatments for acute lower back pain

King James Foam Rolls, why aren’t you?


Anyone recognize this guy?  Anyone recognize that awesome recovery tool he has off to the side of his head?  Yes!  Even professional athletes make time to foam roll after workouts and to aid in recovery!

But why should I foam roll?

Foam rolling and the techniques around rolling out tissue all fall under “self-myofascial release” which is commonly used by athletes to help aid in recovery.  Foam rolling is particularly effective on large muscle groups that are commonly trained for athletic performance.  Fasica, a form of connective tissue inside of all us covers muscles, tendons, bones and can become restricted due to overuse, trauma, inactivity and training regimens.  Consequently, inflammation occurs and if it becomes bad enough the connective tissue can thicken, which results in pain and irritation, and additional inflammation.

Exodus Sport & Fitness – Open House this past summer – OCNJ

Dr Mark set up shop at the Exodus Sport and Fitness open house this past Saturday in Ocean City, New Jersey.  We support and advocate for all our patients to remain active and as healthy as possible when it comes to being our patients, so an opportunity like this is where we are right at home.  In the following pictures, Dr. Mark demonstrates Active Release Technique of the shoulder on a trainer from Exodus.  Tight, achy, “torn up” shoulders are very common condition we see in our patient populations for various reasons.  Old baseball injuries, swinging the golf club, and rec league volleyball walk in our office each day and walk out feeling much better!

Very interesting article talking about not needing a chiropractor, but checking out Active Release

Active Release Technique and the Chiropractor

Dr. Mark shared a very straight forward article this morning on his personal Facebook page about a brutally honest write up about a former skeptic, marathon runner, who’s life was flipped upside down after an orthopedic using cortical steroid injections could not help her running problems but Active Release and Manipulation got her back to running in a very reasonable amount of time.  Take a look for yourself:
